Athens, OH The OHIO Hockey roster is starting to take shape for the 2017-2018 season with two more committed to take the ice at Bird Arena. Nick Grose is a defenseman transfer from NCAA Utica College. The Fairfax, VA native spent three years in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) prior to his time with Utica where he tallied 87 points in 147 career games from the blue line."Nick is the type of defenseman that skates well, and can find shooting lanes from the blue line," head coach Sean Hogan commented. "He can contribute offense from the back end for us and we are excited about his decision to attend OHIO University." Shawn Baird comes to Athens from Cornwall Colts in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL). The Pittsburgh, PA product played two seasons in Cornwall registering 23 points in 99 career games. "Shawn will be a tremendous asset because he plays both forward and defense, and can play both on special teams as well. He really impressed with his desire to be a Bobcat and be a part of OHIO Hockey" stated Hogan. "There is always room for players that have a high desire to be a part of our tradition."OHIO Hockey has announced six commitments for the 2017-2018 season, and can be found at www.ohiobobcatshockey.com.
