Bobcats put on another offensive show en route to 7th straight
Submitted By Patrick Morse on Monday, February 07, 2011
Most people who follow the Bobcats are probably asking themselves this question right now: Can anyone slow them down, let alone stop them? The Bobcats put up a total of 18 goals this weekend against Wright State and Dayton, and have posted 6 or more goals in 6 of their last 9 games.

In Friday's game against Wright State, Jimmy Irwin and Nick Frasse put up astounding numbers. Irwin contributed on 7 of the team's 10 goals (3 goals, 4 assists) and Frasse scored 4 times while helping on 2. Jarrod Carley also had a multi point game with a goal and an assist. Alex Guest picked up his second consecutive win with 25 saves.

On Saturday, the Bobcats returned home to face a Dayton team looking to respond from the 9-6 loss the Bobcats handed them 6 days ago. The game would start out much differently from the previous encounter, and after the first period the score was deadlocked at 0-0. In the second, Dayton would draw first blood, but the rest of the period would be all Bobcats. At the end of the second it was 5-1 in favor of Ohio. In the third, Dayton would fight as hard as they could to comeback, scoring 4 goals in the period, but they could not keep the Bobcats of the scoreboard. The final score would be 8-5. Ohio would receive two goals a piece from KC Fraize (2 assists as well) and Anthony Finney (3 assists), and Jimmy Irwin would contribute another 3 assists. Patrick Morse picked up his 5th win of the season.

This upcoming weekend the Bobcats will seek revenge on their nemesis Akron. On Saturday at 11 am, the team will honor Ben Palocko for senior night as his time with the Bobcats will be coming to end. Then the team will return to the ice on Sunday at 9:30 am in the conclusion of the weekend series. Admission for the D2 game is free, but the team is always looking for donations.
