Last season, Ohio University head coach Dan Morris guided the Bobcats to their 7th Central States Collegiate Hockey League (CSCHL) tournament title defeating Kent State (5-2), Iowa State (2-1), and Lindenwood (4-0).
Dan began his coaching career as an assistant coach with the Ontario Hockey Association's Woodstock Navy Vets. While in Woodstock, Dan worked under head coach Dave Bogart, who is also an Ohio University graduate.
Dan returned to Athens in 1999 to become the head coach at Athens High. Dan remained the head coach for Athens for three seasons and in his final season with Athens High, Dan took on double duty as the assistant coach for the Bobcats and during the 2000-2001 season. The following year Dan became the 12th Head Coach in Ohio Bobcats hockey history. Dan carries with him a wealth of knowledge about the game of hockey as well as the history of hockey in Athens.
His connection to the Bobcats started in 1993 when Dan was a freshman for the Bobcats. During his time as a player, Dan was a member of 3 consecutive winning National Championship teams in 1995, 1996, and 1997.

Along with his head coaching duties, Dan serves as the facility director for Ohio University’s Bird Ice Arena.
Dan lives in Pickerington, OH with his wife Emily and their son Noah and daughter Josie.
