Bobcats Live Another Day

Josh Fodor's two goals propel Bobcats past Robert Morris, 2-1.

If the first round has the most lopsided match-ups, it's going to make for an exciting ACHA Tournament.

Fourteenth-seed RMU hung neck and neck with third-seed Ohio from nearly start to finish.

A depleted Eagles' roster lead to coach Chico Adhratas installing a stay-at-home mentality to limit errors and prevent Ohio from scoring.

The Eagles did a decent job at allowing only two goals, but they forgot about the offense.

A scoreless first session favored the Eagles and in the second RMU took the first lead of the game 30 seconds into the period when Eriks Ozollapa put a rebound into the net. Brian Murtha and Joe Wanat assisted.

That was all Ohio goalie Paul Marshall would allow past him.

The Bobcats got on the scoreboard less than five minutes later when Fodor gave the Ohio fans a reason to stand on their feet, beating RMU goalie Micah Robbins. Ryan Tessmer assisted to tie the game at 1-1.

That would remain the score heading into the final 20 minutes.

Only 32 seconds in, Fodor once again lit the lamp, with an assist from Brett Molnar.

The 2-1 lead was all Ohio needed as Robert Morris lost much of its energy.

Both goaltenders, Marshall and Robbins, played absolutely outstanding.

With the victory, Ohio moves on to the second round where they will play Arizona State.

No matter the opponent, face-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday night.
