Ohio Handles Iowa State, 3-1
Submitted By Bryan Levin on Sunday, February 21, 2010
Bobcats will face Lindenwood in CSCHL Final.

After a high-scoring affair last night against Robert Morris, Ohio took down host and 5th-seed Iowa State.

The Bobcats led from start to finish.

Zach Tisdale scored his second goal in as many days not even 5 minutes into the first period. Ryan Tessmer collected the assist.

Nearing the end of the first, Nick Rostek lit the lamp from the slot on a power-play opportunity. Tyler Pilmore and Michael Schultz assisted on the play to put the Bobcats up 2-0 heading into the second period.

Not even 3 minutes into the middle period, Alex DiMassa put Ohio up 3-0. Jake Holzemer and Jared Fuhs had the helpers.

Iowa State wasn't able to get on the scoreboard until midway through the third period, when Derek Kohles capitalized on a rebound to narrow Ohio's lead to 3-1.

The final 10 minutes resulted in frantic play by the Cyclones but the Bobcats kept their cool and extinguished every attempt from ISU.

With the win, Ohio will play Lindenwood Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. The last time these teams met, the Bobcats swept the series in December. Lindenwood defeated Illinois today 4-1.
